I don't think there is another author out there that spends so much time talking to his fans as you do. We love you and I have a suspicion you love us too. XD
My point is: We'd rather have a happy Josh who writes than a frazzled Josh who feels bad about not spending enough time answering mail/messages/comments.
I met "The Wall" a few years ago. Darn, that wall is hard and unyielding. It took me five years to climb over it. You are taking the right steps and taking care of yourself. Keep doing that, because I love you.

You're so sweet. But no. I am berating myself for starting out the year with such a stiff challenge. I initially thought of this as just a little fun throwaway for fans and to support the effort of my Japanese publishers. But...me being me...it's now an obsessive endeavor to try and successfully meld tropes in yaoi and m/m.

He has a way of making his feelings known. ;-D

Sometimes I think I'm a slow learner!
But you're right. I do love my readers. And I am very grateful to them.
Which is part of the pressure, I guess. I never want to let anyone down!

Did you ever read Falls Chance Ranch Josh? Because you seem to want to make everything perfect all the time. Just like me, just like a certain someone in that book :) LOL!

Well the plots themselves seem to lend themselves to tightly proscribed roles and high drama and lots of misunderstandings. All of which are the antithesis of my writing! :-D
But I'm having fun trying to balance at least a nod to the tropes even as I'm working to make the story make sense and be essentially Lanyonesque.

Doesn't ring a bell. Who wrote it?
It's free online fiction: Falls Chance Ranch Blurb doesn't say much but if you want to have a look at it I can send you my file. You have to be a member of the Yahoo! group to download it.

I'd rather have few Josh stories than none...

Hm. I'll check it out!

One thing I'm learning: bad habits are not easy to break! And this isn't even an addiction like caffeine or cigarettes.

There's a fair bit of spanking. If that's not for you, then.....I should feel ashamed for putting you onto this, because if you get hooked? You can't stop reading! Just ask Josephine Myles. LOL! My fault!

Definitely not into spanking! :-D

LOL! Then you must keep that book far, far away from your man, or he'll get ideas and sort you out! *moa-ha-ha*

It's where they posted the complete parts. It's easier to access when you just want to try it, but the discussion is in the yahoo-group. :)

So now, I take my time, take time off when it gets too much, and read non-work-related books every chance I get. Which is not easy, because the deadlines look pretty dreadful.
It sounds like you've found a good way out of the chaos, and I really hope for you it works out well. It's too easy too fall into the work-all-the-time-trap, especially if you love what you do. It isn't healthy, though, and long-term-wise I'm sure it'll help a lot just to get your head cleared free of work and preoccupied with different things every now and then.
I wish you all the best, Josh! I love your books, so for purely selfish reasons on my side, please take good care of yourself!

Me neither, but I found the first part of ''Falls Chance Ranch'' very instructive for persons suffering from acute perfectionism ;-).
