This is the coolest thing ever! I want this on every e-reader I own!!! Why would you not want this? And why is it not already available? Seriously, if this does not start to show up on next year's ebook apps and devices then I will be sorely disappointed. I would use this all the time, for reference works I read or glancing back at a map or list of characters to refresh my ailing memory.



Setting aside any commentary or arguments for or against replicating the physical book experience in the digital medium, it can be hardly be debated that for any linear string of a text or data to be presented at its best it requires the most flexible system of accessibility possible, since one can never know exactly how the end user might want to interact with it. And since not all ebooks are alike, no one method of approaching them will suffice for all. It's good to know that someone out there is thinking seriously about these things. I just hope that Apple and Amazon (and Google and Samsung...) are paying attention.
