One thing most people love about strawberry shortcakes is that it's so moist.  But if you are taking it to an outing or want to make it in advance it's almost impossible to assemble and then be allowed to sit without becoming too moist or wet.  This cake can be made even the day before and taken just about anywhere.  The frosting I use is a simple powdered sugar frosting with about 4 oz. of softened cream cheese added.  And the taste - if I closed my eyes I would have sworn that I was eating ...
