Launching The “Unregistered Assault Weapon” Blog
One of a very few NY-legal Kalashnikov variants.
In the dead of night and under an executive order suspending the required period of public review and debate for legislation, the New York State government passed a law that effectively outlaws all modern firearms in New York State.
The law infringes on New Yorker’s Second Amendment rights, yes, but much worse, it is a de facto law that deprives New Yorkers of previously owned and legally possessed property without compensation. The law was passed “for the children” in reaction to recent mass shootings — shootings performed by mentally deranged individuals who could not legally possess the weapons they used.
Recently, Governor Andrew “Kim Jong Andy” Cuomo — who famously and strangely moaned his way through bizarre histrionics celebrating his gun ban, orgasmically declaring, “No one neeeeeds ten boooooolllets to shoooot a deeeeeeeer!” — started pushing for third-trimester abortions in New York. It seems the children are only worth saving after the umbilical cord has been cut, and entirely worth murdering if it hasn’t.
The hypocrisy doesn’t stop there, and the implications of this awful law — and national schemes for gun control — don’t either. To that end, I am launching the Unregistered Assault Weapon blog to chronicle the thoughts, experiences, and commentary of an unarmed New Yorker living gunless in the Empire State.
Good luck, New York gun owners. You’re going to need it.
