Total sham

            “Probably
because you have blinders on,” Linda said.

            “I do?” Stella asked, wide-eyed.

            It was Linda’s turn not to
answer.  Stella didn’t get it.  She was so wrapped up in the Greg game that
she wasn’t open to other possibilities if they did present themselves.  Whatever he had, he was obviously able to
keep her on the line.

            “Stella as long as he is there for
you to fall back on, you aren’t going to put yourself out there,” Linda said.

            “It’s easy for you to say, you’ve
got a good one, there’s not a lot of good single guys out there,” Stella
protested.
            Linda knew that was true, but still
she couldn’t fathom why Stella put up with Greg’s lies.  He was a sham, lying over here, lying over
there.  He no doubt had numerous Stellas
scattered about.
