Creativity Overflow
Writing is a great experience and excercise in the arena of creativity. What I find intriguing however is that it manifests in other forms of creativity. If you think about your own experience I believe you will agree that oftentimes you think about a creative outlet or you try to make what you are doing more creative.
I think this phenomenon is natural and occurs only when we get the creative juices flowing. It is impressive to see it in action. For example, this weekend as I worked on my garage I thought about how, in a few years past, I would never have been able to frame the peg board for my tools as I just finished. Actually, my woodworking skills have increased greatly since I began writing.
I will admit that I've always been interested in and enjoyed the craft of cooking. I see it as a great outlet of expression in the art of food. Many of the dishes came out all right. I would say average at best. However, once I started writing my cooking evolved into something else. I wasn't so heavy handed. Is there a connection between the three? I'm not sure but it has to be more than a a coincidence. I'm of the opinion that one feeds off the other. They lend to each other through the channels of creativity.
Does this happen to you? Has it happened to you? Don't worry and enjoy the explosion. You can never tell where it will go or what new creative discoveries you will find.
