Walking with the dog

Bogie and I have been walking just after dawn every morning.  The air isn’t as heavy with humidity, and it feels good to breathe in the freshness and beauty of life here in Florida.  Bogie is getting better about walking, too.  When we first started out he found it necessary to sniff every blade of grass, checking for territorial markings and leaving his own.  For such a small dog, he has an amazingly large bladder.  Since we’ve gotten into this routine, Bogie will now walk as far as three feet without pausing.  This, my friends, is progress.

Lynette Endicott Have you tried a pocket full of treats and a fast pace? Has helped my little terrier mix -- who at 6 can now go 2 miles and slips little pees in as he roams a little ahead, then pees while I catch up or pass him by, but stays pretty close throughout - unless I stop for him, which I only do a few times.
