Paris — my experiences

Our first day in Paris we rushed to Angelina’s for their famous Hot Chocolate. We enjoyed that. My Quiche with caramelized onions was great. The deserts were yummy. I’m posting a big photo so you can see its thick. Really its chocolate soup. You can’t have a lot or it gets heavy in your stomach.

You can see the decor in this shot. And Diego enjoying his chocolate!

The food from there was not grand. Every place served the same desserts dine their way and for the most part none were better than the other. I did try a lot of chocolate places and there was a big difference in those. I found one chocolate place I loved and ate way way too much of their chocolate!

Raw meat, snails, butter, no salt and no ice are standard. The same little salad with some dressing they use is common. No choice of dressing. Every menu is pretty the same. If you order a hamburger it’s not good. Some places have them. If you order an omelet it comes with a pool of butter and no salt.  Quiche is good. Croissants are good. I couldn’t find all the cheese that was suppose to be everywhere.

The last day we were there the waitress mixed some guys raw meat (TARTAR) beside me with seasoning and I about got sick at my table. I couldn’t finish my meal. The idea he was about to eat that big lump of raw beef just grossed me out. I know people like Tartar. I am just not that cultured I guess. Snails. Raw Meat.  No. And they are both huge there.

They love Christmas in Paris and places still had up lights and trees. This is off Champs Eylsees which is their Time Square. There were little booths and holiday shops closed down and being torn down but it was easy to see it was like a walking outdoor holiday mall. This area is all high end shops too. The problem is the styles in Paris are very different and its expensive. Twice a year they have weeks of sales that are like our Black Friday weekend. The stores are packed and insane and we were there. But its still expensive. High heels were $200! And I mean everywhere and on sale! And 5 inches high. CRAZY high heels!!! There is no Victoria Secret in Paris and the panties there I looked at were $30! On sale! Yes. You read that right.

I didn’t buy anything. Diego bought some Nike stuff you can only get in Europe but for me — nothing.

The tower is like Pike’s Peak out my door here. It gets lost in clouds. It’s crazy how a mountain or a tower get lost in clouds!

This is in the clouds
