Elke Let's see: read #6, watched movie version of #5, both read and watched #1, which also counts as my own most disturbing book - therefore it was an easy guess ;)
But the list includes some interesting titles I will have to take a closer look at, especially #10.

Michele St. Martin I agree with #1. I still can't finish that book to this day, and that's not easy to do with me - I'm not easy to shock & disturb!

Elke I may have approached #1 differently and with more reservation had I already known back then that it is based on true events. However, regarding it as pure fiction, I guess I was better able to cope with the disturbing story. When I learned more about the author's work and the original story behind this novel, I was shocked all over again and to a much deeper degree. That was also the case when I watched the movie: I could not stop thinking how such a thing could really happen...
