Chancellor’s education continues as he struggles to bridge the gap between his nation and that of the New Americans while his father’s world comes apart. The Cherokee Nation is fragmenting as well. Encroachment and violation of treaties leave little room between a war they cannot win and assimilation that may be equally as deadly.
