Very interesting world that Sean Quirk has created. I've never imagined anything like his underwater city but I found myself thinking on several occasions....this could be real. I don't think that in fantasy books very often! Usually, they are so outrageous that you know its truly fiction. However, the world that Augie found himself in made me think...I could do that. I could live underwater. haha. Loved it.
The story itself is about a 14 year old boy that is hunted by a water creature that wants a medallion that he's worn around his neck since he was found by his adoptive parents as a baby. Augie is forced to go underwater to be protected by the ocean inhabitants that know how to fight the creature hunting him.
Augie discovers a world of animals and plants and people that he never imagined could exist. With the help of his friends, he solves the mystery of his biological mothers death and his own family history.
This book will appeal to anyone who enjoys a sense of adventure and mystery. If he creates more books in this series based on Grim's Peaks, I think this could eventually be the next Harry Potter.
