I can hardly wait for my daughter to start reading your books. They come up as one of my favorite childhood memories. The movie doesn't hold a candle to the book, and I'm a horror film lover.
Depending on the age of your daughter, she might be ready for the books I've written for younger children, such as HOTEL FOR DOGS and the two sequels, NEWS FOR DOGS and MOVIE FOR DOGS. And, if she's a pre-schooler, you might want to visit my daughter, Robin's, web site at http://www.lullabysongs.net and listen to the original songs Robin and I wrote together, (I wrote the lyrics; she composed the music and performed the vocals and instrumentals.)
Then I hope you'll introduce her to the sequels. They're better written than the first book, because, I'd had a lot more years of experience as a writer. HOTEL published in 1979 -- the sequels published in 2009 and 2010.)
Thank you for liking the book, (and I hope you don't watch the awful movie -- it will destroy the book for your). To answer your question, I'm in between projects at the moment. I don't know what I'm going to write next.
I wish that they would have done the movie entirely from the book instead of changing it so much. my class just finished the book and the teacher wants to show the movie. and I don't want to see the movie again because it changes so many of the best parts in the book, its nothing like I was hoping it would be.
I just came across this discussion today because I picked up your book at a used book store. I have always been interested in reading it, namely because I grew up with the movie and wanted to see if it was anything like it. I am happy to hear that they are two different stories, and that is how I will approach what I can only assume will be an enticing read. I look forward to reading it!

However, I'm excited that it brought you more fans!
