Is it just me, I wonder...
I find it very hard to create happy scenes or write about sunny, happy characters when I'm down or in a bad mood. But, if I persevere, I actually cheer up.
Similarly if I'm reading something sad that is well written, it can really bring me down. It's as if I am personally going through the protaganist's experience.
The power of words, eh?
It's a misrable, grey, wet Monday morning and I'm writing happy and I am determined to persevere... well, after I've had another cuppa. Who knows, I may end up smiling!

So kind, Netty, but I'm far too busy...and lazy!! But it is nice to be able to take a break from writing and share a thought with fellow book lovers xx
Enjoy the cuppa, add some chocolate in and that should make up for it being a miserable day !!!
A well written book always evokes emotional responses in me, a sad narrative can make me cry and genuinely scary extracts can leave me feeling uneasy for hours. It's all part of the appeal of getting totally absorbed in a book. Why I love reading a good book ;0)

Blimey! You must have some stamina. I'd probabaly have just ended up rearranging my bookshelves alphabetically, then had a cup of tea, then rearranged by bookshelves again, this time according to colour...
