On the Plus Side

I know it's been a while since I've done the blogging thing, but I've been insanely busy with the holidays and trying to get some writing done. But I have some exciting news and I wanted to blog about it, so here I am!

My newest book On the Plus Side is well on its way to being finished. I've been in a writing cave for two days straight and I have to say that I think I may be more excited about this book than I was about Wicked Fate.

I was reading through it and it struck me how personal this book is for me. It's a story about a plus size girl who, quite honestly, is so much like me it scares me a bit. I can safely say that I put so much of myself into this character and maybe I shouldn't have, but it felt right. The idea of putting this book out there and having people possibly rip her character apart scares the crap out of me, but I believe in this book and I believe in myself.

The main character, Lilly, experiences feelings that I myself have experienced more than I'd ever like to admit and there were times when I was writing the dialogue that my eyes watered up a bit. Some of the names she was called in the story hit home for me and I had to relive a lot of things I'd hoped to never think about again.

Writing this book has been a form of release in so many ways. My own form of therapy and I really hope it does well. Actually, I know it will do well. There are people all over the world who have felt the way the characters in this book have felt. They are very relatable.

There is no "official" release date for this book. I refuse to do that to myself again. With Wicked Fate I had to change it so many times it drove me nuts. One of the joys of being an indie writer is I'm on my on time clock. I will say though, that this book is very close to being released. Right now, it's in the editing stages and being handed over to my beta readers. I have to do some touch ups to the ending and then I will release it over to you guys. I can only pray that you guys love it as much as I do.

Big girls need love, too, but at what cost?

Lilly is loaded, not only with money, but with weight. Neither of these things does she really want or need. Regardless of her large bank account and fat ass, she tries to live a relatively normal life. But when a tall, dark, and sexy stranger with seductive green eyes comes along, that boring predicable life soon takes a wild turn. What happens when she finds out that the money she despises so much is the real reason for bringing this stranger into her life, as well as her heart?

Devin and his dad are about to lose everything, and if he doesn’t come up with large amount of money and fast, they will. It seems that all is lost when out of the blue he is approached by a millionaire momma with an offer that he can’t refuse. Its simple...date her lonely plus size daughter, making her happy for three months, and keep the home and business that they have worked so hard for. Sounds like a pretty easy task for a womanizer like Devin, but what happens when the short chunky girl with the carefree attitude becomes the beauty that breaks through his icy façade?

***Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young adult readers.***
