Make Excuses, Then Shut Them Down!

Make this your writing year!
Are you tired of making the same old excuses as to why you're not writing more? This year, don't make excuses. Make money writing instead!
Spirited Press can help. We've made a list of famous excuses writers make, and ways to shut them down.
My writing isn't good enough. This excuse could be the most debilitating because you aren't giving yourself a chance! If you feel you have a calling to be a writer, then you are good enough. If you feel your writing needs improvement, then make it better. You have the power and the resources to refine your work. Give it your best effort first. If you feel you need assistance, consider purchasing an editing package for your manuscript.
I don't have the time to write. It doesn't matter how busy you are. Even the busiest person on earth can spare twenty minutes a day to write. That translates to 2.3 hours a week and almost 122 hours of writing per year! Sure, it might take you a little longer to complete a manuscript than someone who sets aside three hours a day, but so what? You'll get there!
I don't have motivation/inspiration/ideas. If you're feeling lacking in inspiration, there are a lot of outlets that may help. Exercise can motivate your body and your mind. Even just taking a walk around the block can get the writing juices flowing. Meditation can allow you to tap inspiration from the divine soul, and it's also a great way to release blocks. You can also try reading inspirational books. The "Raise Your Vibration" series or Law of Attraction Magazine are two great examples of this genre. Finally, if you feel you need help from a professional, you can always consult with a writing coach. Sometimes just talking about a subject will trigger ideas you didn't even know you had.
I'm too tired to write. This might be the worst excuse of all. Sometimes all it takes is a dose of caffeine if that's your thing. But sometimes all it takes is the perseverance of making yourself sit down at the keyboard and just start typing. Try warming up with some journal writing, or just delve right in. Once you have a sentence down, it becomes easier and easier to build on. Even just the movement of your hands typing can awaken that writer soul into producing something wonderful!
If any of these excuses sound familiar, it may be time to consider investing in author services. To learn more about what Spirited Press has to offer, please visit the Spirited Press website for a complete list of assisted self-publishing packages.
