KDL: Your Happy Place

Happy New Year!

Today kicks off KDL’s own Happiness Project, an 18-month campaign aimed at promoting happy, healthy and helpful attitudes and actions to staff and patrons at our 18 branches. The effort, modeled after the book The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, includes programs for all ages and community involvement projects.

January–February programs, themed “A Happier, Healthier You @ KDL,” include a teddy bear clinic at various branches, “happy dance” parties for kids, and for adults, programs on simple, organized living, detox yoga, the new health care law and vegan desserts. The first community involvement project is a hygiene product drive at all our branches, which will be distributed in cooperation with the Kent Intermediate School District to children in Kent County who are experiencing homelessness.

You can find out about system-wide Happiness Project programming by asking at a branch or perusing our Kaleidoscope seasonal program guide.
