Hi Ms. Simone! You've done so many phenomenal things for women in comics, bringing depth and diversity and all around bad-assery to lady superheroes. But what do YOU feel are your strengths as a writer? What do you think are your weaknesses as a writer? An

Oh, I’m sure LOTS of people have a LOT to say about that. ;)

I think my strengths as a writer are about empathy to some degree, I think I can put myself in the shoes of different characters to a serious degree, and I think that comes out in their interactions. People may not have the best definition for it, but I think people know a script of mine when they read it…or they know the difference in the way I write some key characters and the way they are written by others, for good or ill.

I think that’s nice. I feel like if my characters are speaking, in general, their dialogue feels like it belongs to them, and them only.

Whatever other strengths or weaknesses I might have, I leave to others. But I think even my detractors know that I care, and I think that shows.

I hope so, anyway. :)
