And Then I Read: GREEN LANTERN CORPS 13

I suppose we have to think there’s something in the makeup of most Green Lantern Corps members that includes turning a blind eye toward any suspicious actions of their masters, the Guardians of the Universe. Those Guardians are always up to something sinister lately, and in the new storyline are purposely undermining the Corps from within. When they make Guy Gardner their new special champion with added authority it’s no surprise that Guy himself doesn’t see that as odd, but the rest of the Corps probably should. When they send John Stewart, just acquitted of murder, on a special mission, he doesn’t bat an eyelash, but off he goes into more trouble. These guys just never learn. Meanwhile, the oddly monkey-froglike Third Army are hanging around the outskirts killing people at every chance they get, but no one seems to have noticed yet. And the Guardians are about to spring another deadly surprise on the Corps, too.
The art by guest artist Cafu is quite good, he gets a lot of expression and acting in his characters, and the level of detail is up there with other GL books. I’m not too thrilled by this storyline, as I feel it’s been done before, and not that long ago, but it’s pretty good reading. Mildly recommended.
