DVAN’s aim is to promote artists from the Vietnamese Diaspora whose work in literature, visual art, film and performance art enriches our communities and strengthens ties between Vietnamese across the globe. We undertake to support this body of work through cultural events, exhibits and publications that explore connections between art and society.

At this event, we will be celebrating Lan Duong’s new book on Vietnamese films in Vietnam, the United States and France titled Treacherous Subjects, along with the completion of DVAN anthology project titled Troubling Borders in Literature and Art. Poets Barbara Reyes, Margaret Rhee and Jai Arun Ravine will be reading from their most recent works. DVAN will present a community award to Ms. Diep Vuong from Pacific Links for her contribution to Vietnamese American culture and women empowerment. We will have a silent auction and door prizes, and will be serving delicious hors d’oeuvres from Restaurant Le Cheval and local businesses.
