Enough Killing Already!

This draws the line folks; Children….kids….innocent little ones gunned down not only because the man in Connecticut was crazy, but also because our Government doesn’t give the first s**t about the mentally ill.  From Michigan to California and from Washington to Miami, our governors and people “in charge” have decided that cutting health care costs for the mental health saves money.

So, money over people’s lives is what matters most to the spendthrifts that think they’re helping their states save a few bucks.  Young children were slaughtered in Connecticut because this man didn’t get the care of which he should have been entitled.  What a shame. Even the medical examiners; people who study death scenes for a living; were aghast and throttled by the sight they witnessed.

I was talking to somebody about the medical insurance/mental health coverage quandary and they said “You get 35 mental care visits a year covered by BC.” Really? 35 visits to a family therapist would’ve avoided this whole situation? I think not. This man needed mental health care in a ward.  Oh, stupid me; I forget the states have gotten rid of most of those hospitals to save some cash.  Saving cash over lives: Another smart move by our bumbling leaders.

2o children and 8 adults were slaughtered. They died violent deaths by the hand of a mentally ill man. The principle died trying to save children, and she’s a hero. The school psychologist died trying to save children, and she’s a hero. But, and I must say it, five year-old kids who had no idea what death was watched with curiosity as this man gunned them down. This doesn’t come close to matching the rest of the student body who also had no real concept of death. They will forever relive this in their young minds.

When is our government, state and other leaders going to figure out that cutting real mental health counseling is costing lives; not saving cash?  When are they going to figure out these few words: Columbine, Denver, Arizona, Oregon, and now Connecticut. That’s only a few people. There’s plenty more that don’t get as much press.

I’ve had enough! Are we going to have to worry about running to Kroger for bread and milk? Is it that we may get gunned down picking up a pizza from Little Caesars? Maybe you’ll just be driving down the road and some madman or woman will shoot you as you drive. Oh, I forgot, that’s happened too.

Do you get it Government leaders?  Buck up and start fixing this mess and quit worrying about where the next dollars are coming from…..

Yours truly, Disgusted
