Grimm End #10: The Return (Beta Edition)
Peter stared up the steps into the shadows of the main floor. Dragging the body downstairs made a lot of noise, but he was sure he had heard something else. Was someone else up at that hour? He wondered.
He stepped over the body and quickly ascended the stairs. The back entry was empty. He glanced down the hall toward the front of the house and into the next room along the back of the house. Both were empty.
Then he remembered a small closet near the back door. He crept up to it and put his hand on the door handle. He paused and then yanked open the door. There was nothing in it except brooms, mops and other cleaning supplies.
He closed the door and after one last look around, went back downstairs.
When he first pulled the body out of its resting place, he didn’t think that it weighed all that much. It wasn’t even too bad when he’d dragged it from there to a hiding place until he could get it in the house.
