Hello..:) My name is Cristina…:)

I am a published author,  passionate about writing and totally in love with this craft:)  I live in Bucharest/Romania.

I wrote my first book ( a romance novel called Seductive Ambiguity ) at the age of 21 and shortly after, I published it. The book was very well received by the critics and in January 2011, I was rewarded with Mihai Eminescu International Literature Prize. I`ve  appeared on national televisions- TVR Cultural and BI TV giving interviews  about my book and likewise, the award I was given.

In May 2011, I finished writing the manuscript of my second novel Noble Temptation ( a 930 page epochal novel) which will be released in 2013. Along that, I write articles for literary magazines and posts on her blogs.  I also write Stories for Children but writing novels is my favorite kind of work. I love interacting with other writers so I started my own online group called Creative Writing Source.

At a personal level, I love doing simple things that bring great joy to my soul. I am very curious about Life and its mystery. I think that it is the supreme gift for us, human beings. I like very much to travel and to always meet new people. Finding out about new cultures, places, new unexplored territories…this is what keeps my curiosity about life alert.

 

Elisabeth Waidhofen is a beautiful young girl from the village of Vosendorf, Austria. Her beauty and sharp mind can’t handle anymore the limitations of the rural lifestyle so she ventures to the capital of the country, Vienna. The Ball of the Tea is a festival held every year at the Schonbrunn Palace. As a leading tea producer, count Andreas von Hochwaltmont is there, proudly presenting his new tea flavors. When attending it, Elisabeth has no idea that she is about to be thrown into the sweet realm of love.  She fears giving in, but Andreas`s deep green eyes and charm won`t leave her at peace so easily. Andreas has everything he needs in order to make any woman sighed. On the other hand, Andreas is himself intrigued by this fascinating young lady. He is well aware of the “respectful” ladies from the Viennese aristocracy but what is it with Elisabeth that he can`t take his eyes off her? It started as a play for him. Another woman? Yes, why not? After all, she is beautiful and so damn elegant! For this, Andreas is ready to play the game! However, soon he will discover that Elisabeth is more than that. Her warm and noble soul makes him fall in love with her completely, but there is an obstacle between them. What is this obstacle? What secret is keeping Horst Volker, the mayor of Vosendorf? A secret that is directly related to Elisabeth`s father? And  Karl von Becker, Andreas`s worst enemy, what dirty charade will he play over Andreas`s sister, Christine…?

1) What is the working title of your book?

“Noble Temptation”

2) Where did the idea come from for your book? 

I`ve always had a crush on Austria and 18-century, as far as I can remember:) So, while I was writing my first novel, I promised myself that the second novel will have this place and this location. I started writing and the plot was so great that I fell for it, completely! It`s mostly fiction, but it also has true historical facts.

3) What genre does your book fall under?

Definitely romance, but it has the touch of a thriller too. Betrayal, revenge, love, suicide, psychology, history…Are involved as well.

4) Which actors would you choose to play in your movie rendition?

For Elisabeth Waidhofen, I would choose Aishwarya Rai but with blue eyes and for Andreas Hochwaltmont, I would choose the Italian actor Giulio Berutti.

5) What is the one sentence synopsis of your book?

Elisabeth and Andreas meet at the Annual Tea Bal, which is held every year at the Schonbrunn palace. They know that they are made one for each other, but external circumstances and also persons interfere, complicating things.

6) Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? 

I’m publishing through Create space on Amazon but I’m searching for a good agent and publisher too.

7) How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Two days.

8)  What other books would you compare this story to?

Maybe Gone with the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell.

9) Who or what inspired you to write the book?

My love for Austria and my alert interest & fascination for the 18-century.

10) What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

a)Elisabeth and Andreas, as  the rest of the characters, have many lessons to learn, lessons which make them stronger, wiser, more spirituality awake. This is an advantage for any reader, if they seek growth-on any level.

b) The reader is taken not into one single dimension, but in several, at the same time; because the plot and the action develop themselves on more than just one perspective. The novel has around 50 characters, so each of them has to have their own evolution and therefore, the novel is not linear

c) The reader is taken to many places in Austria, so the plot doesn`t happen entirely in Vienna. The reader will see both the Austrian countryside and city.

d)The reader is graciously taken into the elegance of the 18-th century; they will go to balls, with the characters; they will meet the high class of the aristocracy and they`ll be introduced to some of the Austrian customs, way of living and food.

e)I simply love my characters. I think they are strongly built and they know what they have to do. I`ve been told that while reading, the reader was so into the story, so close to the characters as if they could nearly touch them. My characters have a solid structure; some of them are really evil, but they`ll have their lesson to learn.
