What Happens When People Don’t Understand Health

The recipient of this award very recently found a new career path, and for matters of privacy has asked that the post be removed. His blog, Twitter feed etc. have all been deleted which for me, is sad.

He is very talented, capable and an asset to the community. I’m not surprised someone has employed him as he has so much to offer and will be an excellent worker. If we lived on the same continent, I would have given him a job in a heartbeat. I have no qualms about his capability or reliability. I have seen it in action.

I think this further demonstrates the stigma that any health issues can have on people’s lives; and the discrimination that can occur as people don’t take the time to learn about anything they are afraid of. Sometimes the biggest monsters are just a reflected shadow in a darkened room. Ignorance should never be allowed to hold people back.

We’re all wishing him the very best of luck in his new job and hope that one day, it won’t stop him for being able to go back to spreading the very important message that he had.
