I'm so sorry for your loss! Its horrible losing an animal. Especially when said animal is like a child to you. Its heartbreaking. I'm glad he can rest peacefully now though.
I'm sorry for your loss. I lost Simon to the complications of heart failure a year ago in November, after having him for three days shy of eighteen years (since I was six years old). It is a blessing to be with them at the very end, and to see how peaceful the end is; how gracefully they let go. I know that you'll miss him a lot, and the pain will come and go at times that don't really make any sense, but that one day, you'll find you're smiling when you remember him a lot more than you're crying. And you'll know he's smiling, too. Maybe as a dolphin. :-) My dear friend told me Simon wanted to reincarnate as a bear. I like to think of him eating all the food he wants, then napping for months at a time. That seems like the perfect life for him. Anyway, good luck and Godspeed on your healing journey.~Emily
It's not fair that we live so long and they live so short. Perhaps it's the price paid for being so beautiful!I think Marley and Me qualifies as torture anyway, but Hachi - ever seen that? I'm not a dog fan but that movie was great.
I lost Coco in 2011. She was just 7 years old, and went from being healthy in Feb 2011 to well, dead, in May 2011. Whilst some might think I haven't had a hard life...I can say with all honestly that her death was the most heartbreaking thing I have ever gone through. She was my child...it doesn't matter we are different species...and she left behind three beautiful daughters, who I love and cherish dearly.
R.I.P furry ones...you're all amazing.
