In most bilingual families one language is usually spoken more than the other. This may be because one of the parents is a native speaker from that country and perhaps the family is living there, immersed in the language. Or it may be due to the fact, that a family has chosen one to focus on as a primary language, which is then used most during family life, to give instructions, to communicate and most of all, to resolve conflicts.
