New Title, New Name, New Genre

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/250855

This month, I have a freelance editing contract to do. My Nano project under the other pen name finished on time, as in done, totally done, published done. I had a lot of fun writing it. I am totally having fun with the characters, which means I’m being evil to them.

I’m not hiding that this other author is me, just separating out the genre from my usual work, which has a strong GLBTQ focus. So if anyone wants to check the new thing out, here is a coupon for a Smashwords download. Good for now and December 2.

Promotional price: $0.00
Coupon Code: DT33S
Expires: December 15, 2012

Btw, I did not do a mobi version on Smashwords this time, specifically because I hate that Smashwords forces writers to remove curled quotes (double and single) in order to create a mobi version, because the Smashwords meatgrinder is incapable of making these formatted punctuation marks show up in their mobi conversions. Straight quotes are inelegant. There is a mobi version on Amazon, but it’s 99 cents. There is no coupon generation feature for Amazon authors. Annoying, but there it is: Amazon is pushing KDP Select still.

Anyhow, it is very easy to change an ePUB to a mobi version. Just go download Calibre. This is a free program (I donated to the programmer–this guy provides an excellent service). Calibre will make a lovely mobi version of an ePUB and preserve the curled quotes. So go ahead, download the story from Smashwords using the coupon and go convert that thing.

And I’d like to remind everyone that Wikipedia is having its annual fundraiser. If you use Wikipedia regularly, please donate. They’ve asked for the amount you’d pay for a cup of coffee. If everyone who uses the site gave them just that much, their fundraising would be done right now. Please donate.
