Life of Pi

Only got to one movie over the Thanksgiving weekend, but it was a fun one. Life of Pi.

Interesting interweaving of the power of story and the pain of tragedy. One sentence summary: Young man loses his family when a ship capsizes and then survives an incredible journey in a lifeboat accompanied by a bengal tiger. You have to see it for it even to make sense.

The movie is entertaining and interesting and even stirs a deep thought every now and then. A good dose of modern "all religions are the same" pablum, but other than that, and the need for a bit of editing to tighten the story (2+ hours in a lifeboat with one character is a lot) a great flick.
