Advent Day 1

It’s Christmas time! I’m so excited I can barely express it. I love this time of year. I love the lights, the music, the weather, and the renewed sense of wonder, magic, and spirituality. It is my sincere prayer that all of you will have the best Christmas ever this year. Now, I bet you’re all wondering what you can expect from my Advent Calendar this year! Well, I can tell you right now there will be a lot of surprises!

Christmas is a time of love and compassion and a celebration of the birth of Christ. In honor of that, this year, I’m dedicating myself to perform a random act of kindness every day leading up to Christmas. I’ll document my efforts here so you can all keep me accountable! In return, I’d like to hear about random acts of kindness you perform for others. Together let’s help share the spirit of the holiday! A random act of kindness can be anything, no matter how small, such as letting someone else in line in front of you or spending time listening to a friend who needs someone to talk to. There are all kinds of things you can do without spending a dime that will still make a difference in someone’s life today.

I will be giving away prizes and goodies this year. Also, I’m looking for suggestions of an act of kindness I can do for a person or organization that will cap off my season of random acts. The person who submits the suggestion that I ultimately follow will also receive a very special gift. So, please, comment below and tell me what nice thing you’ve done for someone and what nice thing you think I should do for someone or something. Together let’s see how many lives we can touch this season!!

For a little inspiration you can listen to my favorite version of Little Drummer Boy performed by Whiteheart and watch a slideshow of images in a video I found online. You can check it out by clicking here.
