Advent Conspiracy

Advent is the time before Christmas when we prepare for the coming of Jesus:

His first coming as an infant in a manager in Bethlhem
His coming into our hearts when we accepted Him as our Lord and Savior
His second coming to judge the world

It’s easy to get distracted with all the holiday preparations, parties, and presents. Each year I add a special Advent Bible reading to my normal devotions. I save the readings and my prayers and post them on my blog the following year. So starting the First Sunday in Advent (tomorrow), you will find a daily Scripture and prayer here. Although they are very short, I pray that these messages make Christmas and the time leading to it more meaningful.

The video suggests that we remember others during this season. Two worthwhile nonprofits are highlighted in the video, and I encourage you to help a charity or an individual—whether you donate canned goods to your church’s food pantry, give money to an international children’s agency, or take gifts and Christmas dinner to a neighbor who lost his job.
