THE NEXT BIG THING: Find Out What Robin's Currently Working On!

The sweet and wonderful author, Ramey Channell, who is also a fellow Alabamian, was generous enough to tag me in an ongoing game of "The Next Big Thing" in which authors get to talk about their favorite thing: writing, and what they are currently working on.

Published or not, being a writer is challenging on ANY level, but the sense of "family" fostered by games like this one tends to make it more worthwhile.

THE NEXT BIG THING
1-What is your working title of your book? Not sure yet. I’ve just been calling it Book 3. It’s the third book in my Blood Moon series.
2-Where did the idea come from for the book? The idea originally came from a crazy nightmare, but with some fine tuning Ties To The Blood Moon was born.
3-What genre does your book fall under? This particular series is YA Fantasy/paranormal, set in current time.
4-Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?I am terrible with that kind of stuff. Trust me, if my books were ever to made into a movie it would be in everyone's best interest for me to stay as far away as possible.
5-What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?Genevieve finds herself kidnapped by evil forces, and the fate of her race depends on her surviving.
6-Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? They are all currently self published. However, if I was approached by a publishing house I just might sign on the dotted line. Who knows?
7-How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? The first drafts are easy peasy. I can get those on paper in no time. It's the final fleshed out draft that takes me the longest.
8-What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?I hate comparing because a few reviews have said my series is like Twilight. It’s really not, other than it's YA, there is a love triangle, and there are werewolves and vampires. There are many books out there one could find these exact similarities to. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Twilight movies, I just want my Blood Moon series to be known for being my work, not similar to someone else's.
9-Who or what inspired you to write this book?Actually, my fans. I had planned to make this book the last in the series, but after getting such a wonderful response from the first and second book, I have now decided to add a forth book to this series.
10-What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? All the twists and turns. You never know what’s on the next page. I guess you could say I keep the reader guessing all the way to the end. And when they think they have figured it out—they read on and realize they had no clue. And now for those I have tagged: Kristin L. Aragon,  blogger, reviewer, and author working on her debut novel.http://www.angelsdemonsandvampires.com/ More to come...
