Hi! For those of you who don't know me, I've been writing forever and published since 2008. Mostly with
Loose Id, Amber Quill and Liquid Silver. You can find my books there or at whichever re-seller is your preference. I have lots, over thirty at last count. I'd like to think I have a book for everyone, but I love paranormals the most.
So, this blog hop is about your next WIP - and answering 10 questions about it, so here goes....
What is the working title of your book? It’s
WereWolf Fight League: AshlandWhere did the idea come from for the book?I’d been kicking around the idea of this world where werewolves were slaves – sort of a mixture of Roman Gladiators/Thoroughbred racing/UFC/dog fighting – and came up with the WWFL. The first book was Tor, about a Norwegian werewolf and his unwelcome new mate, Sky, a naïve sex slave. This is the second in the series, about Ashland, a werewolf used for sparring in cage matches and his owner Stoltz.
What genre does your book fall under?Paranormal Gay Romance Alternate Universe – that was a mouthful! Er, no pun intended!
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie?Well, Ashland is a redheaded English bred werewolf, so maybe someone like Russell Crowe, and his owner is Stoltz, and he’s German, so maybe a Daniel Craig type.
What is a one sentence synopsis of your book?
When Stoltz becomes a master of a slave, he swears never to take advantage of his position, until he buys Ashland, and all his vows are put to the test.
Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?
No. It’s coming out from Loose Id. All my books are epubbed.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Well, since this is my WIP, it’s still being written. However, I write and edit as I go so I only have one draft. Usually for a novella of 30K about a month to write and edit.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Well, the first book in the series, Tor.
>b>Who or What inspired you to write this book?
I love UFC fighting, and Roman gladiators, and thoroughbred racing and werewolves. I just hate the idea of dog fights and slaves, so I wanted to push my boundaries and put them all together in this alternate world.
What else about your book might interest the reader?
Besides the hot sex scenes? The two main characters are struggling with their attraction and their morals. Ashland is a slave and must do as he’s told. When does having sex with your master happen out of love and not obedience? And for Stoltz, who thinks taking advantage of a slave who has no choices in his life is the ultimate form of rape, how do you put that aside, drop your walls, and admit your feelings?
I hope readers will look forward to it, and if they haven’t read Tor yet, that they’ll go out and get it first, and then love it so much they can’t wait for Ashland! But, yeah, I’m dreaming…still. Nice dream!
