            Streetlights were just coming on as Elaine trudged up the stairs to her apartment.  In the end, she had nowhere else to go, and the compulsion to be with Ash was driving her mad.            What did it matter anyway, she wondered?  His evil had apparently seeped into her, driving even Father Thomas into lust.
