Firstly, congratulations on your 1,000th sale of your book - I loved it and can't wait for your next book.I'm not American I live in Australia but I am thankful for my daughter who is seriously ill with a mental illness that she tries so hard to be a good mother to her two beautiful children and of course my two sons who are there for me and her family.
I am thankful for the little moments that make up my everyday. I dont always take the time out to appreciate them.
As a stay at home mom I am thankful for the internet so I can connect with people who share the same love of reading that I do. (and it stays within my "stay at home budget" too!)
I am thankful for the unforgettable books of 2012--On the Island (of course!), Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter, and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I'm also incredibly grateful to have gotten some wonderful publishing news of my own!
I am thankful for so many things. My family, my friends, my community, my co-workers, my job, and books to name a few.I lost my husband in an accident several years ago, and had it not been for the support of these people... I don't know how I would have made it.
My children are happy and healthy. My daughter has married and given me the gift of a grandson.
Life does go on... I am thankful for the time I had with my husband, and I am thankful that I am happy again... even though I still miss him and always will.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I don't want to be included in the contest because I am aware that there are others who deserve this chance more than I. I will state what I am thankful for because I believe it's a great practice to not only share what you are thankful for but to also understand what others are thankful for. First and foremost, I am thankful for my family. Without them I probably would either be dead or in some kind of mental health facility. They stood by me through my breakdown and addiction even though I treated them horribly. They could have turned their backs but instead they forced me to deal with my issues. I am thankful for my friends who are an extension of my family. I know I could not have made it through this year if it wasn't for their constant love and support. I am thankful for everything God has blessed me with and everything he hasn't. I am thankful that with the help of my community I was able to feed over 250 people this Thanksgiving. I am thankful that these same people will help me gift over 100 students plus their siblings this Christmas. I am humbled by the generosity of my fellow man. There is still so much beauty in this world if only we all just took a moment to look around and actually see it. Look beyond your troubles to realize someone would trade places with you in a heartbeat. This holiday season, be thankful for what you have and not what you don't. Go to a soup kitchen, donate to a local school or toys for tots. Do something bigger than yourself. I promise you will reap the reward for a lifetime. One small act of kindness can transform someone else's life. I've seen it and there is nothing more beautiful.
I'm just thankful for living; for waking up each day when other people don't. I'm thankful for everyday that i have food on my plate, family and friends with me, for the health. For waking up each day, not with a choice but an opportunity. . .
