And cue my whole day being eaten up by repeatedly watching the "Last Christmas" video by Wham! just because I carelessly mentioned it in this post.
For the first time since becoming a free agent, I'm sanctifying this Thursday and Friday as no-work zones. When you work for yourself, it's *really* easy to justify "just getting a little work in!" on a holiday, but I'm NOT doing it this year. I'm really excited to just put the laptop and phone away and soak in time with my parents, my little brother Dan, and my Best Friend Forever, Katy (who's coming up for Turkey Weekend! YAAAAY!).However. This also means that today and tomorrow? Holy shit, you guys. Lots of coffee, a Totinos Party Pizza (cause work is a paaaartaaay), tons of new music (and old, because it's technically the justifiable time to break out "Last Christmas" by Wham!), a pile of Post-its, and my notebook are all at the ready for a two-day marathon of task completion.
There is also alcohol ready for the evening portion of this two-day extravaganza. Because sometimes, it's all just a little bit easier with a glass of wine in hand.
And I'm not complaining, nor am I glorifying the myth of busy...everything I'm doing is super fun, exciting, and awesome work that I want to do. And I'm setting my own goal of getting it all in before Thursday dawns, which I don't have to do, but want to, so therefore...complaining is non-legit.
Or, technically, the goal is to finish before 7 on Wednesday, when Adam and I are hitting Mooselips, which is open especially this Wednesday to help kick off the holiday weekend.
Did you know that, Adam? That we're going to Mooselips at 7 on Wednesday?
Well...now you do.
