He’s always cloaked himself in bravado and arrogance to hide his internalized inadequacies, but now that working with the Birds is stripping that cockiness away, it’s also revealing a man who’s well-aware of his abilities but still fighting with deeply-ingrained feelings of inadequacy that almost comes off as - dare I say it - civil!
