Chapter 15 and Another Review!

We’re back! After a week on vacation down in good ol’ Texas, we’re back to business of usual around here. Sometimes, all it takes is a short break to get you back on track.

Unfortunately, while we were away networking our little butts off, podiobooks got hacked, so for the week we were there, no one could access the audio book. Boo. But they seem to be up and running again, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed that there aren’t anymore snafus!

We also received another glowing review on Amazon (which we *always* like to see):

“Minutes to Midnight is an urban fantasy novel surrounding the tale of two main characters: Dirk and Morgan. Dirk is a Viking, while Morgan is an Amazon. The book is set in modern day Las Vegas, where apparently, a good deal of supernatural things happen. I don’t like giving spoilers, but the authors (yes, a husband and wife duo) do a really amazing job of weaving the tail back and forth between the two protagonists. They tackle two difficult aspects of writing really well: first person pov (ok, which isn’t necessarily hard, but they do it really well to keep it engaging and first person pov is atypical for writing in general–in fact, there’s only one other author I know of who does it REALLY well: see Glenn Cook’s The Black Company), and bouncing back and forth between Dirk and Morgan. There were a few times where the dialogue got a little skewed, but this being a debut novel, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the story flowed, and then went all chaotic towards the climax–in a really good way. These two are definitely a must watch for up-and-comers.

Lastly, and incidentally, the podio/audio version of the book is done by H. Jackson, who has a really superb speaking voice. Go give it a listen.” ~Ben L.

Many thanks to Ben, and to all of you, for reading the book, enjoying it, and reviewing it when you can!

In the meantime, let’s catch up with Dirk and Chapter 15!
