“He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; he who does not ask a question remains a fool forever,” Chinese Proverb

It's not exactly quote day, but this one popped into my inbox, and I couldn't resist.

I've gotten into trouble for asking too many questions. My argument was always 'how will I know if I don't ask?' It didn't keep people from rolling their eyes and insisting that I asked too many, but it made sense to me. I wanted to know, and they weren't telling me on their own. So what choice did I have?

The only problem with this approach is if you are asking someone who either doesn't have the answer, or doesn't want to answer. In my opinion, having the answer but not telling is far worse than not having it at all. It seems rather...stuffy, unless they have a good reason.

Have you asked any questions lately? And if not, why not?
