daring greatly read-along # 5

I know this has been a very difficult time for our friends and family on the east coast. Please know that you're in our hearts and prayers. My web platform and the audio program I use were both affected by Sandy, so if there have been problems other than the delay - I'm sorry. I know we received several emails about the site being wonky last week.

Also - here's a link to the American Red Cross if you'd like to donate to the relief efforts. They are doing an amazing job!

Today is election day in the US which makes it the perfect day for the chapter on taking off the armor. It's also a great opportunity for a giveaway!

My friend and colleague Sonia Levine introduced me to this journal from Paper Source and I fell in love with it! Given my research on foreboding joy, I especially love this line: "I know I'll be happier as a blind fool than as a clairvoyant apocalyptic."

The journal has wonderful prompts and quotes. It's a great place to make your "joy and values list" (you'll hear about these in podcast #6 on Chapter 5).

To win one of the three copies, leave a comment telling us how you know when you're in vulnerability. What's your red flag?

The e-mail address to send questions for the chapters 6&7 is daringgreatlyquestions(at)gmail(dot)com. The podcast for Chapter 5 will post tomorrow. It's already recorded but I can't add two podcasts to one post.

Here is the iTunes link if you want to subscribe to the podcast. It normally takes a couple of hours for the podcast to upload to iTunes so it might be this evening. If you're reading via email, click here to listen to the podcast.

There's some question about the origin of this quote, but it doesn't change its power and importance (especially this week):

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." -- Ian MacLaren
