Quantum Enigma

I finished reading Quantum Enigma: Physics Encounters Consciousness recently. First off, I found the book to be an excellent primer on the bizarreness of quantum mechanics (though, ultimately, I cannot verify the accuracy of their physics...only that it seemed to mesh with my own). It tackles the heart of the matter: what counts as an observation? Why is that important, because in the current
