The Harvest - The Next Generation
Szin's story The next morning Szin woke to an empty bed, and something that smelt wonderful. Stomach growling, Szin wondered what Takeo was cooking. After he found some of Takeo’s draw string pants, he stumbled into the bathroom. Moments later, he walked back to the bathroom … to furious voices coming from somewhere in the house. Szin stopped to listen, but the other voice wasn’t familiar.
Takeo’s voice, on the other hand, was very familiar… and pissed. What the hell was going on? Szin peeked around the door. An Onfrevian male stood in the kitchen with Takeo. The male was bigger than Takeo, much bigger. His skin was snow white like Takeo’s, but then most Onfre had that skin color. He also had red eye, like the rest of his species. That was the only thing he and Takeo had in common, though.
Takeo stood with his arms crossed over his bare chest. “How dare you interrupt this morning, Fraylor? Do you not understand the male who is my mate is in the other room?”
“Please.” Fraylor rolled his red eyes. “You can’t be serious, Takeo. I saw him yesterday. That’s the one you plan to claim? Sure, he’s pretty, and I bet he’ll make a sweet little plaything, but—”
Takeo’s arms bulged as he tightened his hands. “You dare? You dare to insult him? And in front of me, no less?”
Fraylor hissed, his eyes nothing more than slits. “Oh, I dare. Have you forgotten our time together? You submitted to me.”
Szin’s mouth fell open. Whoa, wait a minute. Takeo bottomed?
Takeo arms fell to his sides, his fists clenched. “Don’t make it sound like more than what it was. You submitted to me that night, also. That was nothing more than an experiment. I told you that at the time. I also told you it wouldn’t happen again.”
Fraylor hissed. “I fucked you, Takeo. You had to feel something. You yelled so sweetly when I fucked you. You say it was an experiment? Well, it was more than an experiment to me.”
“Then that’s your problem, not mine. I only wanted to know what it felt like so I’d know how Szin would feel when I take him. And what I found was time needs to be taken to prepare the one receiving. I fucking yelled, Fraylor, because you plowed into me with no thought. You hadn’t opened me like I needed. Gods, I bled. It was not an enjoyable experience.”
Szin’s head spun. Jesus Christ. That sounds like… some very rough sex.
“I apologized for that. I hadn’t taken into account you’re not pure Onfre.” Fraylor rubbed a hand over his bald head. “You didn’t bled that much, and besides I… wait, what did you say?”
Takeo raised an eyebrow. “That it’s not happening again? I’m not interested? Get the hell out of my house? Which one did you mean?”
Fraylor’s eyes widened, a look of satisfaction crossing his face. “You said something about whatSzin would feel when you take him. You haven’t mated him yet, have you?”
Takeo’s body tensed. “That’s not any of your business, Fraylor.”
“Oh, but it is.” Fraylor spoke softly as he stalked closer to Takeo. “If you haven’t committed to him, then I can claim you as a mate.”
Are you fucking kidding me? Szin choked the snarl off that threatened to escape. Takeo was his mate! Who the hell did this male think he was, coming in their home and threatening his mate? Takeo was his and he’d be damned if… Oh God. When did this happen?
Takeo growled low. “Are you fucking kidding me?”
“Not at all, my lovely little Takeo.” Fraylor leaped at Takeo.
Bodies crashed together, bouncing against the cabinets in the kitchen as their limbs tangled. Whatever Takeo had been cooking was knocked to the floor as both males fought, bodies straining against each other. Furious hisses and grunts filled the kitchen as they collapsed to the ground, both fighting for supremacy. Takeo ended up on top of Fraylor, his fists a blur of motion as he rained blows down on Fraylor’s midsection.
Oh God, oh shit… what the hell is it with these big, macho-type guys? Fuck, what do I do, how can I help? That bastard is not claiming my mate! Szin raced back to the bedroom, searching. Takeo was unarmed, but really, who expected to be attacked in their own damn kitchen while trying to woo his own mate? Szin knocked things off the dressers looking for anything to use as a weapon. He had to do something to help Takeo! Damned if some red-eyed snake fucker was going to claim his mate. He needed Takeo’s… oh yes, thank you Jesus, there it was. Just as Szin picked up the thing he was looking for, he heard a nasty crash. Shit, that sounded bad. Szin ran back to the kitchen.
Fraylor bucked against Takeo and managed to dislodge him enough he could roll over and pin Takeo on the ground. Fraylor wrapped Takeo’s long black hair around his fist, and slammed Takeo’s head against the floor. Fraylor had both arms wrapped around Takeo, drawing him closer; his fangs had unsheathed.
“Gonna bite you, claim you as mine.” Fraylor snarled as Takeo rammed his fists in the back of his head. “Stop it, Takeo, or I’ll hurt the little one in the other room.”
“You… touch him…” Takeo hissed as he slammed his fist into Fraylor’s ribs, “… I’ll kill you.”
“We can…” Fraylor grunted as the one punch broke a rib, “… share him, Takeo. He can…” Fryalor moaned as it grew harder to breathe, “… serve us together. I’ll allow that.”
“Fuck you!” Takeo’s body bulked up in a dominance display, a Ta’Narian trait. His hands grasped Fraylor’s head… with every intention of trying to break Fraylor’s neck.
A buzz was the only warning as a beam of light hit Fraylor. His body shook, nerves going out of control from the phaser shot. His eyes rolled back as he slumped to the side unconscious.
Takeo pushed Fraylor off him, coming to his feet in one swift move. There stood Szin, half-dressed, and holding his phaser.
“Takeo?” Szin set the safety on the phaser. “Are… are you okay?”
“You—you stunned him.” Takeo looked from Szin to Fraylor.
“Damn straight I did. I’m not stupid enough to get in the middle of you guys. Um, remember? I’m all about brains over brawn.” Szin’s body shook now that the fight was over, the rush to protect his mate slowly receding. “I-I had to, Takeo. He was going to—to… claim you. I-I couldn’t—”
Takeo came to his feet, bruises blooming. “Easy, babe.” Takeo reached for Szin, pulled him into the shelter of his arms. “Couldn’t allow him to… what, Szin? Please, tell me.”
Szin buried his face in Takeo’s chest. “I couldn’t… let him claim you. You—you are mine, Takeo. My mate. Heaven help me, it took nearly losing you to make me see that.”
“Oh, thank the Gods.” Takeo held Szin in his arms, rocking his gently. “I was afraid you’d never give in, and I couldn’t force you. No matter how much I wanted to.”
Szin took a deep breath. He needed to say this, needed to give Takeo what he deserved to hear. “I-I love you, Takeo.”
“Oh my beautiful, sweet Szin. I’ve longed for those words for a long time.” Takeo kissed Szin on the top of the head. He’d waited his whole life for this moment.
Now that the words were out there, Szin felt free. No more worries, no more wondering if Takeo was making a mistake by mating him. He was ready now, ready to be what Fate had dictated him to be: Takeo’s mate. “So—?”
Takeo leaned back to see Szin’s eyes. “So, what?”
Szin blushed. “Um, maybe we should make things official before any more males show up and act like fools.”
Takeo grinned. “Let me take out the garbage…” He glared at Fraylor, “… and I’ll take care of that little issue right quick.”TBC
