Party Reminders
We recently finished a class here at Marilu.com that was called GOOD TO GO !!! The title was a reflection of The Total Health Makeover itself which is a lifestyle that lets you go anywhere and enjoy the party. Marilu lives this every day of her life and we can’t think of anyone who is busier and more active than she is. So dive right in and don’t worry that you won’t be able to enjoy the party. The Total Health Makeover will help you enjoy your life MORE because you will look and feel your best.
Before you head out this weekend here are some simple tips to help you stay on track.
~ Don’t leave the house famished. Eat a little something before you go. You can still enjoy good food when you’re less likely to dive headfirst into the nachos if you aren’t starving.
~ Stay hydrated. You don’t need to avoid alcohol on this plan but follow this rule of thumb; two glasses of water for each alcoholic beverage. Your skin will thank you and your waistline will thank you. (You’ll also be less likely to make an awkward phone call or text message!)
~ Ask for olive oil instead of butter or skip the bread altogether. Just tell your server at the outset of the meal.
~ Bring a healthy dish to share if you’re going to someone’s house.
~ Focus on the people and the conversation. This will not only keep you from focusing on the food but it makes you more interesting and helps you to develop your memories.
