Something about Airicka
Hey Bloggers and bookworms, i'd like to welcome to the blog the wonderful Airicka Phoenix! Don't know who Airicka Phoenix is? Read on!
NOVELS
ANTHOLOGIES
Airicka Phoenix is the author of TOUCHING SMOKE (Touch Book #1), TOUCHING ETERNITY (Touch 1.5),TORRID, a short story as part of the Whispered Beginnings: A Clever Fiction Anthology and WANTING & INTENTIONS, two stories as part of the Midnight Surrender Anthology. When she's not hammering away at the keyboard, she can be found banishing pirates or crawling through the attic looking for lost treasure with her kids. She loves baking, gardening and reading. She also likes to travel and take pictures of everything she comes across. When asked, Airicka describes herself as a sarcastic basket case that has an unhealthy addiction to chocolate, old movies and really bad jokes. She loves to laugh, make friends and write. If she could have one wish granted, it would be to spend one day as a fly-on-the-wall inside Stephen King's mind. If she could have two wishes granted, she would ask for a castle dedicated entirely to her overwhelming collection of books.

The other day i had the pleasure of interviewing Airicka and this is what she said...
1. Have you always wanted to be anauthor? No. I wish I could say yes, but once upon atime, I had dreams of becoming an archeologist. This was back when I used towatch Johnny Quest and thought it would be so cool. Then, when I got older andwent to the museum to see the mummy exhibit and realized I would be hunting fordead things and lots of bugs (especially spiders). That dream died veryquickly.
2. How long have you been writingfor?Since I was in third grade. I did a rewriteof Beauty and the Beast.
3. How did the inspiration foryour book/s come to you?The Touch Series stemmed from anotherseries that will be released spring 2013 called The Hunter Series. But I’m veryeasily inspired. My brain is always thinking, what if… and that’s all it reallytakes.
4. Do you read the same genre thatyou write?Yes! I am a huge fan of paranormal and aneven bigger fan of Young Adult.
5. Typically, how long does ittake you to finish a book, from conception to editing?I would have to say three to six months, depending on time and the length of the story.
6. Do people you know inspire yourwriting? Not people directly, but maybe somethingthey said or something they did. But never a person themselves.
7. Which authors have inspiredyou?Stephen King. I love that man’s work!
8. Do you have a favoriteauthor/s?I don’t think there’s enough space on thispage to list all the authors I love. Before I walked into the world ofpublishing, I could easily name off five or six authors, but I have met so manyincredible authors that the list is now enormous.
9. Are there any other books inthis series? There are four books in The Touch Series, not including the novella. With that, five.~ Touching Smoke~ Touching Fire~ Touching Embers~ Touching Ash~ Touching Eternity (Touch Novella)
10. Is your protagonist based on yourself? No! Neither Fallon nor Amalie are based onme.
11. What is your goal/wish for your book in the upcoming year? That my readers enjoy it as much as theydid Touching Smoke.
Thank you so much Airicka for stopping by and giving me the pleasure of being part of this blog tour!
