State Mandates

An hour long meeting with the principals of the middle schools in my district. Question: Why have they eliminated advanced classes for high ability learners? (In plain speak, why no "gifted" classes. "Gifted" is such a dirty word now.) Answer: State mandantes have forced the situation. Conclusion: No more competition. Everyone should be the same. Our society is heading down the road of "Harrison Bergeron." Don't raise your head too high, someone might want it chopped off.
