Email and texting has made me a better writer


When I first got into fiction writing (way back in 1993), I worked in the corporate world and email was an intra-company tool that only certain employees had access to.  By the time I sold my first manuscript in 1995, email was more prevalent in companies like mine that were IT centric, but the book industry didn't commonly use email and personal email wasn't yet the rage.  (That seems unimaginable now, doesn't it?)  The first couple of years I was a writer, if I sent my editor an email, I...
