The meeting is upon us~~ Daniel’s diary

I know Janie is hiding Scott’s abuse and with good reason. I will make his life hell! He is lucky he is on the road right now. What I should do is hunt him down and show him what happens when he puts his hands on my sister. Oh, but he’ll be back and when he is, me and him are going to have a man to man talk. I won’t put up with this! My father beat my mother and I’ll be damned if I watch some jerk do the same to my sister.

This will be the week Janie finally meets the boys. I surely hope everything goes well. These are not the type of men to be fooled with; they mean business. This family may be dangerous but it is my life and it’s what got us out of the mess we were in. They are what brought us the freedom we have now, so I can only hope she makes a good impression.

There are so many things that I should be telling Janie. I’m just not sure she will understand all of it. She’s not a kid anymore, but lies have been told for so long I’m not sure how she will handle it. All I want is for her to be happy and to find the one man that can help her to settle down and start a family. I know Rico very well and he truly would be a great match for her. I know one thing for certain Scott is not the man for her.
