Writers: A Spreadsheet to Track Your Progress

Several (don’t count, please) months ago, I gave a talk on software that makes my life easier. I mentioned that I am now a spreadsheet addict (there’s not a 12 step program for this, btw) and several folks asked if I’d be willing to share my spreadsheet.

This is the new and improved version that I’ve been using recently. The idea is to track your progress and when you wrote so that you can get a better idea of when your optimal writing time is. Even if you don’t need to figure that out, you can still use the other columns in this spreadsheet.

Appropriate for all genres & non-fiction writers too. These were created and saved in Excel. Let me know if you have questions, comments, or need a CSV, PDF or OpenDoc.

Grab the Excel 2003 version here. (.xls)

Grab the Excel 2007 version here. (.xlsx)

View it on Google Docs.
