Write of the Living Dead Fundraising Event for Second Story

Second Story (or check them out on Facebook) goes into schools and puts on after school programs and writing camps to help kids learn to love writing. It’s an organization that’s near and dear to my heart and it is raising money by bringing in some writers and staging a zombie-filled event, Friday and Saturday, October 26-27, called Write of the Living Dead.

Friday, October 26

7 p.m.

Punchnel’s Writer Night for Second Story: Write of the Living Dead Edition

At the Service Center for Contemporary Culture and Community

Join writers Catherynne Valente, Laird Barron, and Gary Braunbeck—plus the winners of Punchnel’s Zombific(a)tion! zombie story contest (you still have time to enter, the contest doesn’t close until October 7th).

Cost: FREE!

Saturday, Oct 27

1 – 3 p.m.

Horror Writing Workshop

At the Service Center for Contemporary Culture and Community

Laird, Gary, and Catherynne will be putting on koffeeklatsches in intimate writing sessions. Space will be limited to 15 attendees.

Cost: $25.

Zombie Tag and Haunted Shopping Mall Zombie Party

At the former Incredible Pizza at Lafayette Square Mall

It’s a zombie party. Beer, wine, and snacks on hand.
