Oh, man, there’s a BUNCH in mainstream comics alone. Not anywhere near parity, but a bunch. And when you add in alt and manga artists, it’s a huge number.


There’s Amy Reeder, Becky Cloonan, Nicola Scott, Adriana Melo, Jo Chen, Joyce Chin, Ramona Fradon, Jill Thomspon, Colleen Doran, Wendy Pini, Lea Hernandex, Pia Guerra, Jan Duursema and lots of others.


There’s many, MANY more when you add in the alternative and manga comics. Tons.

I won’t say women have equal opportunities in mainstream comics YET, but it’s getting closer and most publishers will judge you by your work, not your gender.We owe that opportunity to the hardworking women who came before us and fought their way in in a much more hostile environment.
