Just dropping in to say I 100% support what you said. I'm someone very positively affected by the New 52. Because of it, I've been a Batfan for years but now I get to jump right into comics, and share it with my own best friend, something I've wanted to do

I am not arguing at all with those who say they have felt alienated, I believe them, I don’t think they’re just griping for the sake of griping or anything like that. I believe them.

But I’ve been at cons all year and have been hearing stories like yours just endlessly. I stress again, I was a skeptic. Because I jumped into comics in the middle of a big crossover story with a very convoluted backstory, I thought that that wasn’t a deterrent to most, but I guess that it was, in retrospect, for many.
