50k in less then thirty days
I had a story brewing in my head for a little while, but left it untouched because life was happening and I had other stories I had to get done. Finally, there was nothing on my plate. I finally started the story and then there was no stopping me. This story flowed and just kept flowing. I decided to push my word goal. My longest published story is 30k, and at first I thought, let's get it to 45k. Then I pushed it to 50. And I'm glad to say at the moment the book is sitting at 50,200. :) Its in the hands of two beta readers right now. And I have a whole list of their notes from the beginning of their reading. So, I have things I need to change and reword. I'd like it if I could add at least another 1000, but you never know what's going to happen on the second draft. I edited this while I wrote it, so I've caught most of the sentences missing words and expanded on areas.
Well, when I set out to write this book, I didn't plan on doing it in a month. But then, I decided, what the heck. Let's try. And here it is the 24th of September and I did it in less then 30 days. It feels awesome. I'm ahead of schedule. I've also decided to try my hand at one of the bigger publishers out there. The ones who will most likely reject me, but hey, I should at least try, right? Right! Must stay positive. They'll either want it or they won't. :)
So, now as I wait on feedback from my beta readers, I'm going to clean my house. You know, when you write all day there's no time for cleaning. I have a lot of cobwebs. The bathrooms might need my attention as well. Oh, the joys.
As soon as I have more details on Bidding Wars, I will pass it on!
